After flying high against the Owings Mills Golden Eagles on Friday, the Carver A&T Wildcats came back down to earth. Carver A&T took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sparrows Point on Monday. Carver A&T lost against Sparrows Point in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 43-37 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Carver A&T saw an underclassman step up: Elisah Guity scored 21 points. Jordan Carrington was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Carver A&T's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Sparrows Point, the win was the fourth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record for this year to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carver A&T will take on Lansdowne at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sparrows Point, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Owings Mills at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Owings Mills comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 16 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
