Darin Jones and Tristan Gibson were among the main playmakers for Voyager Academy as the former went 6-for-13 on his way to 18 points and three steals and the latter posted 15 points. Jones continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Julian Quinones was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.
Voyager Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin Academy only posted eight.
Meanwhile, Hillside's game two weeks ago was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-53 victory over E.E. Smith. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted against the Golden Bulls since November 18, 2016.
Voyager Academy's record now sits at 3-4. As for Hillside, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
