Creekview is 0-8 against Highland Park since August of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Scots at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Creekview barely beat Newman Smith the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs blew past the Trojans 3-0 on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the Mustangs' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
While Creekview won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 26-24, 25-16.
Among those leading the charge was Valentina Rico, who had ten digs. Priyanka Thomas also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Meanwhile, Highland Park had already won six in a row and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Scots have posted since August 29th.
Highland Park wouldn't go down easily and took Reedy into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 26-28, 25-18, 21-25, 25-11, 15-11.
Highland Park's record is now 29-8. As for Creekview, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 9-21.
Creekview suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Highland Park in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
