Volleyball Recap: Jackson Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

If Lake wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Jackson, they should've done a better job of containing Alece Evanto. The Polar Bears were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Blue Streaks on Thursday thanks in part to Evanto, who had 16 digs and two assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last eight games she's played dating back to last season.

While Jackson won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-15, 25-21.

Defeat or not, Lake got some senior leadership from Sydney Hedrick and Luci Haddad. Hedrick had five digs and three aces, while Haddad had ten digs and three assists.

Jackson has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Lake, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Jackson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Archbishop Hoban on the 6th. As for Lake, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against McKinley on the 9th.
