They secured a 41-36 W over Liberty Tree Academy. This was payback for Miami-Yoder, who suffered a 39-25 loss the last time these two teams met.
Leading Miami-Yoder to victory were James Orozco and Jel Wallerstedt. Orozco dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten steals, while Wallerstedt dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Orozco has scored at least 25% of Miami-Yoder's points.
Miami-Yoder's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Liberty Tree Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Pikes Peak Christian the next time they take the court. Liberty Tree Academy will head out to face Pikes Peak Christian at 3:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024, while Miami-Yoder will host them at 3:30 p.m. on January 12, 2024.
