The Marion-Franklin Red Devils suffered their biggest defeat since January 5th on Friday. They took a serious blow against South, falling 80-48. While losing is never fun, Marion-Franklin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while South is ranked 113th).
It was another big night for Lajames Washington, who scored 25 points for South. Another player making a difference was Chris Stokes, who scored 17 points.
Marion-Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for South, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marion-Franklin won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Granville at 5:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for South, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Briggs at 7:00 p.m.
