The Cristo Rey Research Triangle Bulls can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They strolled past Carolina Friends with points to spare, taking the game 63-48. For Cristo Rey Research Triangle, this counts as revenge for the 46-38 defeat Carolina Friends walked away with the last time they faced one another last Friday.
Leading Cristo Rey Research Triangle to victory were Jamaal Miller and Christian Gill. Miller dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds, while Gill dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gill has scored at least a third of Cristo Rey Research Triangle's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Immanuel Holland, who scored eight points along with two steals.
The victory got Cristo Rey Research Triangle back to even at 5-5. As for Carolina Friends, they bumped their record down to 4-11 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cristo Rey Research Triangle won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Liberty Christian at 6:15 p.m. on January 23rd. Liberty Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Cristo Rey Research Triangle likes a good challenge. Carolina Friends will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cresset Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
