The Zion Christian Mountaineers pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Wellspring Prep by a score of 64-61. Zion Christian lost against Wellspring Prep in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 76-69 score last time.
Wellspring Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zeekeal Jackson out in front who scored 18 points along with 9 assists and 8 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jackson has scored at least 25% of Wellspring Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bennett Saladin, who scored 18 points.
Zion Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Wellspring Prep, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Zion Christian will take on Sacred Heart Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wellspring Prep, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Muskegon Heights at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. Muskegon Heights comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
