Sidney hadn't done well against Wapakoneta recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Yellowjackets walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Redskins. For the Yellowjackets, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Redskins walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

While Sidney won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 26-24.

Sidney's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ahniyah Wilson, who had 12 digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Alena Swearingen, who had ten assists and six digs.

Sidney has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. As for Wapakoneta, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Sidney has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Indian Lake on the 16th. As for Wapakoneta, they will head out to challenge Celina at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give the Redskins their first taste of in-conference action this season.
