Vicente Trejo of Liberty Ranch ran for the longest rushing play in Sierra Valley this season against Union Mine last week. Trejo ran for 80 yards on the play and finished with 112 on the day as his team topped the Diamondbacks.
Vista del Lago extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating River City, 51-28. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Eagles.
Vista del Lago's dynamic duo of Matt Jimison and Chris Cooper proved tough for the Raiders to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Jimison threw for 377 yards and four touchdowns and Cooper had 145 yards receiving. Josh Pfeffer helped Vista del Lago's passing attack out by catching six balls for 88 yards.
Matt Thomas was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 143 yards on eight carries as Liberty Ranch bested River City.
6-foot-2 quarterback Jimison of the Eagles is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1169. He has also thrown 17 touchdowns. On the ground, Bryan Golder's team's Thomas has rushed for 626 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Sean Avis. The Liberty Ranch star has 22 catches for 448 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when El Dorado takes on Cosumnes Oaks. The Cougars are in fourth place, while the Wolfpack are in second place.
El Dorado moved up to 719 from 777 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league.
