Iowa Colony's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aaliyah Rogers led the charge by scoring five points along with 19 rebounds and three steals. Those 19 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Kenadie Francis, who scored ten points.
Van Vleck's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Iowa Colony, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Van Vleck will take on Hempstead at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hempstead is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Iowa Colony, they will be playing at home against La Marque at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. La Marque will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1318th, while Iowa Colony is ranked 368th).
