The Lyons Lions will be playing at home against the Rocky Mountain Prep SMART Ocelotls at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Lyons focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Monday.
Lyons struggled with offensive rebounds on Monday (DSST: Cedar had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Lyons fell 46-36 to DSST: Cedar.
Despite their loss, Lyons saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Gemma Powell, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Powell is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Marley Chase, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and five blocks.
Rocky Mountain Prep SMART posted their biggest win since December 8, 2023 on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Aurora West College Prep Academy 48-19 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Rocky Mountain Prep SMART has posted against Aurora West College Prep Academy since February 5, 2018.
Lyons now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Rocky Mountain Prep SMART, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.
