Cliffside Park is 0-10 against Ramsey since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Cliffside Park Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Ramsey Rams at 7:00 p.m. Cliffside Park will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Ramsey is ranked 21st).
Last Tuesday, Cliffside Park came up short against Dumont and fell 60-52. Cliffside Park has struggled against Dumont recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jerelz Ortiz, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Calabrese, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of ten wins, Ramsey's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 41-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northern Highlands. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ramsey has scored all season.
Cliffside Park's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Ramsey, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-1.
Cliffside Park ended up a good deal behind Ramsey when the teams last played back in January of 2023, losing 54-38. Can Cliffside Park avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
