Volleyball Recap: Hurricane's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Hurricane not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 23, 2024. Everything went their way against the Bear River Bears as Hurricane made off with a 3-0 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

While Hurricane won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18, 25-23.

Hurricane found their leader in sophomore Kasey Kearney, who had 11 assists and two aces. Afton Wadsworth also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Hurricane was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bear River only served four aces.

Hurricane's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Bear River, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Hurricane will challenge Copper Hills at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bear River, they will square off against Pine View at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
