Camp Point Central has gone 7-2 against Barry Western recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Panthers will welcome the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Camp Point Central took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on West Prairie with a sharp 18-2 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Lauren Miller made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Camp Point Central let Karly Peters and Anna Peters run wild. Karly went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles, while Anna went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave Anna a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gwen Huston, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Camp Point Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Prairie only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, Barry Western hadn't done well against Brown County recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Hornets. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 17, 2017, but that streak is no more.
Camp Point Central pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Barry Western, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
