Softball Recap: Orem Has No Trouble Against Mountain View

Orem got themselves on the board against Mountain View on Monday, but Mountain View never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Bruins with a sharp 15-0 victory. Considering the Tigers have won nine matchups by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Kiley Hoshnic was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kate Allred, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Hannah Maylett, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.

Orem was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Orem's win bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Mountain View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.

As of now, neither Orem nor Mountain View have any future games scheduled.
