Divine Savior Academy waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They enjoyed a cozy 64-46 win over the Mater Academy Charter Lions. Given the Sharks' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Lions are ranked 274th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Divine Savior Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than David Watson, who went 8 of 12 en route to 19 points and seven rebounds. Watson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joost West, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points and five blocks.

Mater Academy Charter's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Otero, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Davis, who put up nine points.

Divine Savior Academy's record now sits at 9-1. As for Mater Academy Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Divine Savior Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-63 victory against Sports Leadership & Management on the 16th. Mater Academy Charter will take on Miami Christian in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
