The Eugene Eagles will challenge the Owensville Dutchmen at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Eugene sitting on three straight victories and Owensville on four.
Eugene came out on top against Harrisburg on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run seventh inning. The Eagles blew past the Bulldogs 8-2. Considering the Eagles have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Chase Richard made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Garet Wood, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one RBI. Jeffrey Schulte was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Owensville not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 31st (when they won 19-1). They put the hurt on St. James with a sharp 13-5 win. With that victory, the Dutchmen brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Owen Binkhoelter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on five hits.
On the hitting side, Landon Kramme was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Owensville's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 5-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Zaiden Gates, who went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Owensville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Eugene's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Owensville, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
