After soaring to 76 points the game before, the Whitwell Tigers were a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They took a serious blow against Grundy County, falling 65-16. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Whitwell has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Whitwell saw an underclassman step up: Charlee Casseday scored four points along with four steals.
Carlee Smartt was her usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with five steals for Grundy County. The game was Smartt's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kallie Parson, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Whitwell has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Grundy County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
