Shenendehowa and Ballston Spa are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Plainsmen will host the Scotties at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Friday, Shenendehowa needed a bit of extra time to put away Christian Brothers Academy. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Brothers, sneaking past 12-10. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 12, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Colin Barry looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, Maxwell Jones was incredible, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brayden Williams, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Shenendehowa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Ballston Spa had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Blue Devils 6-4.
Ballston Spa's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Shenendehowa, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
