The Alta Loma Braves will square off against the Diamond Ranch Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alta Loma will be strutting in after a victory while Diamond Ranch will be coming in after a loss.
Alta Loma was handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Baldwin Park on Friday. Alta Loma blew past Baldwin Park, posting a 35-6 win.
Alta Loma found their leader in sophomore Kristopher Biggers, who rushed for 124 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries. Those 124 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Biggers. Another player making a difference was Maximus Fierro, who rushed for 51 yards and one score.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Alta Loma proved: they limited Baldwin Park to a paltry 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Owen Fiorenza for the heroic effort on defense: he. Alta Loma's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 5.08 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 5.4 on average over their last five games.

Alta Loma didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Semaj Stewart and Fiorenza. Fiorenza is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season. Stewart got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Diamond Ranch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Northview and fell 47-14. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.
Although Diamond Ranch took the loss, they still got scores from Roman Garcia and Tristan Kinney.
Alta Loma is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.0 points over those games. As for Diamond Ranch, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Alta Loma has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 153.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Diamond Ranch struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 203.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Alta Loma strolled past Diamond Ranch when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 21-6. Will the Braves repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
