In what's become a running theme this season, the Anson Bearcats gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past Central Academy 75-52. The win was a breath of fresh air for Anson as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Jayden Little was his usual excellent self, scoring 32 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Anson's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Robinson, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Central Academy saw an underclassman step up: Michael Hoff scored 23 points along with four steals. That was a full 44.2% of Central Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Zach Mcdowell, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Central Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-5) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Anson's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-9. As for Central Academy, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with that loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Anson will face off against the Wolf Pack at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Parkwood's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 14 matchups. As for Central Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Piedmont is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
