Marmonte - East recap September 4, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Malik Henry and Andre Baccellia connected against Canyon. The connection was good for 63 yards, the longest such play in Marmonte - East this season.
Drew Moore of Simi Valley ran for the longest rushing play in the league this season against Temple City last week. Moore ran for 67 yards on the play and finished with 88 on the day as his team beat the Rams.
Davis Pinkston and Moore gave Simi Valley a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Don Silecchio also contributed to the rushing game with 37 yards on the ground.
Pinkston and Moore gave Ryan Taggart's team a balanced attack through the air and ground last week.
Henry provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Westlake fell to the Cowboys. He completed 15 passes for 257 yards and also ran for 5 yards. Henry's favorite target this week was Baccellia, who caught 4 passes for 135 yards.
Pinkston threw for 230 yards and 2 touchdowns. He went 11-14 with 0 interceptions.
Baccellia was the best receiver in the league this week as the Warriors lost to Canyon. Alex Egurbide helped Westlake's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 54 yards.
Pinkston put up the best numbers in passing as the Pioneers defeated Temple City.
Moore was the most successful running back in Marmonte - East this week.
Newbury Park was the team made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Panthers triumphed over Buena 22-3.
