The Caprock Academy Eagles suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were the victim of a rough 53-28 loss at the hands of Soroco. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Caprock Academy has suffered against Soroco since January 21, 2017.
Caprock Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Pennie Underwood, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Underwood posted two or more blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Caprock Academy and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Soroco, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Caprock Academy will challenge Plateau Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Plateau Valley's defense has only allowed 24.8 points per game this season, so Caprock Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Soroco, Soroco and North Park will face off at 4:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. North Park is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
