Seffner Christian has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. After each having a week off, they and the Cambridge Christian Lancers will shake off the cobwebs and  square off against  one another  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Seffner Christian's defense has only allowed 12.6  points per game  this season, so Cambridge Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
 Seffner Christian will head out to face Cambridge Christian after giving up their first home loss of the season  last Friday. Seffner Christian fell  21-14 to St. Petersburg Catholic. The loss was the Crusaders' first of the season.
 Despite their  loss, Seffner Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Wills West, who picked up 86 receiving yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. West was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 58 yards. Seffner Christian also got help from  Mahki Cosby, who showed off his sure hands for 88  receiving yards.
 Meanwhile, Cambridge Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch  last Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight  defeat  dating back to last season. They took  a  28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westminster Academy.
 Despite the  loss, Cambridge Christian got top-tier performance from   Nathaniel Lusk, who rushed for 225 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. The dominant performance gave  Lusk a new career-high in  rushing yards.
 Even though they lost, Cambridge Christian was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 235  rushing yards. That's a new  trend for them: they were averaging 84.7  rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last three matchups they've averaged 208.
 Cambridge Christian wouldn't let Westminster Academy keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Cambridge Christian can thank  Caleb Massie and  Jackson Langston for forcing both of them.
 Having lost for the first time  this season, Seffner Christian  fell to 4-1. As for Cambridge Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
 Friday's  game will pit two  of the most dominant  backs against one another:  West and  Lusk. West has put up some stellar numbers this year, and currently owns excellent season averages 73.8 rushing yards per game this season. For his part,  Lusk has averaged 94.7 rushing yards per game this season.
 Seffner Christian was able to grind out a solid  win over Cambridge Christian when the teams last played  back in September of 2023, winning  26-17. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seffner Christian since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
