The Tustin Tillers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Cypress 49-17 at home. The result was nothing new for Tustin, who have now won seven matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tustin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eimesse Essis, who rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Essis is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. MacKenzie Alleyne was another key contributor, rushing for 104 yards and a touchdown.
Tustin's win was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.0 points per game. As for Cypress, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tustin will take on Warren at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Warren is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games. As for Cypress, they will be playing at home against Rio Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
