East Stroudsburg North hasn't had much luck against Easton Area recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Timberwolves are taking a road trip to face off against the Rovers at 4:00 p.m. East Stroudsburg North has given up an average of 11.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
East Stroudsburg North lost 18-3 to Pocono Mountain East on Tuesday.
Alyssa Adrover was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Easton Area had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Slaters a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Rovers have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Audrey Rinda made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.
Rinda wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gianna Koch, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. Those three hits gave Koch a new career-high. Thalia Burns also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Easton Area's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for East Stroudsburg North, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
East Stroudsburg North's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. The Timberwolves have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Easton Area, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will East Stroudsburg North continue to outrun the ball?
East Stroudsburg North suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Easton Area when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Timberwolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
