Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Evangel Christian over Mt. Pleasant Christian in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Evangel Christian blew Mt. Pleasant Christian out of the water with a 76-37 final score. The Lightning have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 29 points or more this season.
Evangel Christian's win came from a few key players East Central HomeSchool will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Asa Wagoner, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Gobel, who went 5 for 9 en route to 13 points.
Evangel Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.
East Central HomeSchool is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Evangel Christian, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: East Central HomeSchool has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Evangel Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
