Southwestern Heights came out on top against Spearville on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Mustangs were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Lancers. Considering the Mustangs have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Southwestern Heights' victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Spearville, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.

Looking ahead, Southwestern Heights will venture away from home to take on Scott at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Spearville, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-1 victory against Holcomb on the 21st.
