The Spring Woods Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cypress Creek. While losing is never fun, Spring Woods can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 974th, while Cypress Creek is ranked 367th).
Spring Woods' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Noelle Berry, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds, and Brittany Bargas who scored 13 points along with two steals. Melody Nowling was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Spring Woods has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season. As for Cypress Creek, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-14.
Spring Woods didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-25 win vs. Northbrook on the 7th. Cypress Creek has also already played their next contest, a 35-34 win against Cypress Ridge on the 7th.
