It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Oak Grove Warriors had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 35-0 victory over Meridian. Considering Oak Grove has won five games by more than 29 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Aj Maddox was on fire: he threw for 278 yards and two touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Another player making a difference was Damari Jefferson, who picked up 79 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The victory (which was Oak Grove's fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.5 points per game. As for Meridian, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Oak Grove will face off against Brandon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brandon will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak. Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
