The J.F. Webb Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 12th straight loss. Their rough 66-46 defeat to Mecklenburg County might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, J.F. Webb can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 578th in North Carolina, while Mecklenburg County is ranked 263rd in Virginia).
J.F. Webb's loss came despite strong showings from Joshua Barnette and Micah Allen. Barnette dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Allen scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Jaydan Hester was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
J.F. Webb dropped their record down to 1-14 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Mecklenburg County, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. J.F. Webb will take on Durham School of the Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Durham School of the Arts focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Tuesday. As for Mecklenburg County, they will be playing at home against Brunswick at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
