Myka Richardson was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Fairfield's points. Madyson Daniels was another key contributor, scoring two points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Middletown had strong showings from Bree Gregory, who scored nine points, and Jamia Jones, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gregory has scored all season.
Middletown struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Fairfield's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6. As for Middletown, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield will square off against Oak Hills at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Oak Hills is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Middletown, they will head out on the road to face off against Lakota West at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Lakota West presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Middletown in Ohio (Lakota West is ranked 85th, while Middletown is ranked 423rd).
