The Weequahic Indians waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They snuck past University with a 65-60 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Weequahic to victory were Bart Jordan and Tyhir Barlow. Jordan scored 20 points, while Barlow scored 23 points.
Weequahic has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. As for University, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-11.
Weequahic will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. Rahway knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully the Indians like a good challenge. As for University, they will head out on the road to take on the Tornadoes at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Orange presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Phoenix in New Jersey (the Tornadoes are ranked 110th, while the Phoenix are ranked 235th).
