Lakeside Christian was the 28-10 winner over Geneva Classical Academy when they last played one another back in September of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. The Lakeside Christian Lions fell just short of the Geneva Classical Academy Knights by a score of 41-38 on Friday.
Jeremiah Gooch and Peyton Rochell certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Gooch gained 136 total yards and three touchdowns, while Rochell rushed for 35 yards and two touchdowns. Gooch also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.
Lakeside Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Geneva Classical Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Lakeside Christian will head out on the road to take on Shorecrest Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are at an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2020. As for Geneva Classical Academy, they will face off against The Classical Academy of Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
