The Pecos Eagles will face off against the Saginaw Rough Riders at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Pecos barely beat Presidio the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles blew past the Blue Devils 16-2 on Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Cesar Coria made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Coria was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avert Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Isaac Casillas was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Pecos always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, Saginaw can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They put the hurt on White with a sharp 13-5 victory. The Rough Riders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Ben Ketcham looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Coby Richerson was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those hits were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cason Kersey, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
The win was their first at home, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Pecos, their record now sits at 2-4.
