Hawkins and Union Grove are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Hawkins Hawks will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Union Grove Lions at 7:30 p.m. Hawkins will be looking to extend their current 19-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Hawkins strolled past Big Sandy with points to spare, taking the game 55-36. Given Hawkins' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 348th, while Big Sandy is ranked 1184th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Union Grove suffered their biggest loss since November 18, 2023 last Friday. They were beaten by McLeod 62-33.
Hawkins pushed their record up to 23-1 with that win, which was their 15th straight on the road. As for Union Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.
Hawkins was able to grind out a solid victory over Union Grove in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 62-50. Does Hawkins have another victory up their sleeve, or will Union Grove turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
