It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Goddard Rockets can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Deming on Saturday, falling 33-0. Goddard just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Ryan Alfaro was on fire for Deming: he rushed for 164 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Pizarro, who rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown.
Goddard's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Deming, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Goddard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Deming will be playing in front of their home fans against Roswell at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Roswell is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
