In what's become a running theme this season, the NCSSM: Durham Unicorns gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They claimed a resounding 63-19 victory over East Wake Academy on the road. With NCSSM: Durham ahead 37-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
NCSSM: Durham was led to victory by Parker Wildman and Maren Donlon. Wildman scored 12 points along with two steals, while Donlon scored 17 points along with four steals and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wildman has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ellie Murphy, who scored eight points.
Despite the loss, East Wake Academy still got an impressive performance from Emma Roche, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That was a full 42.1% of East Wake Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
NCSSM: Durham now has a winning record of 8-7. As for East Wake Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. NCSSM: Durham won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Raleigh Charter at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for East Wake Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Falls Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Falls Lake presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than East Wake Academy in North Carolina (Falls Lake is ranked 78th, while East Wake Academy is ranked 490th).
