The Webster County Highlanders will take on the Greenbrier West Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Webster County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Webster County made easy work of Paden City and carried off a 16-5 victory. Considering the Highlanders have won three games by more than ten runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Maddox Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Webster County: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, Greyden Channel was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Joston Lewis, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Webster County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Greenbrier West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Trinity Christian.
Landen Doss made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Bradley Hodge also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Greenbrier West now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Webster County, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Greenbrier West's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Webster County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. It's a different story for Greenbrier West, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain Webster County's hitters?
