A District 4 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Tyler Robinson of Wilson ran for the longest rushing play in A District 4 this season against Rush Springs last week. Robinson ran for 75 yards on the play and finished with 101 on the day as his team fell to the Redskins.
Ringling extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Walters, 47-21. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Velma-Alma's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dallen Mercer threw for 43 yards and Austin Dennis had 43 yards receiving. On the ground Mercer chipped in 195 yards. Jake McGuire helped Velma-Alma's passing attack out by catching two balls for eight yards.
Velma-Alma's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Comets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ty Richardson has thrown for 538 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Dennis has 11 catches for 318 yards. Mercer leads the league in rushing with 1701 yards.
Empire took down Bray-Doyle 58-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
