The Morrill Lions can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Sioux County as Morrill made off with a 47-25 victory. Winning may never get old, but Morrill sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Pittman Ashwin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a triple-double on 17 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists. That's the first time this season that he posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyler Fisher, who scored 13 points.
Loss or not, Sioux County got some senior leadership from Shane Gluth and William Skavdahl. Gluth scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Skavdahl. scored seven points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Gluth is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cy Hughson, who scored no points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Morrill has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Sioux County, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-9.
Morrill will face off against Hyannis at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hyannis will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Sioux County, they will be playing at home against Edgemont at 12:15 p.m. on Friday. Edgemont and Sioux County are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
