Johnson was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in AAA Region 1. Earlier in the week, the Atomsmashers triumphed over Brantley County 39-34.
Appling County extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Tattnall County, 42-28. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Johnson's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Raquan Green threw for 205 and 1 touchdown and Matthew Jackson had 82 yards receiving. On the ground Rekwan Cooper contributed 130 yards. Darrell Myers helped Johnson's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 60 yards.

5-foot-6 quarterback Green of the Atomsmashers is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,057. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jermaine Williams. The Savannah star has 22 catches for 480 yards.
A big matchup in AAA Region 1 this week will be when Southeast Bulloch takes on the Warriors. The Yellowjackets are in second place, while Tattnall County is in fourth place.
Savannah fell to Pierce County 30-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
