The Lake Blue Streaks are taking a road trip to take on the GlenOak Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Lake sitting on three straight victories and GlenOak on nine.
While Lake's win against Alliance wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blue Streaks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Aviators on Monday.
Emmitt Filisky spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Joe Woodin, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April.
Meanwhile, GlenOak got the win against Canfield on Saturday by a conclusive 8-1. Considering the Golden Eagles have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
GlenOak also got a great performance from John Hamilton as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Hamilton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bryce Broom was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Connor Zets was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
GlenOak always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canfield only posted an OBP of .267.
GlenOak's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Lake, their record is now 13-8.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lake hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like GlenOak struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Lake's way against GlenOak in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Lake made off with a 10-4 win. Do the Blue Streaks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Golden Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
