Valor Christian pulled ahead with a 59-58 photo finish over Wagner. Valor Christian's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Valor Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Peyton Jones, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Quinn Vansickle, who scored 10 points along with 8 assists and 6 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Wagner lost, one person who can't be blamed is La Sneed. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points along with 5 steals. Sneed scored a full 32.8% of Wagner's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Valor Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Wagner, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
Valor Christian is on the road again on Saturday and play against Conway at 11:30 a.m. on December 2nd. Conway will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 26th in Arkansas, while Valor Christian is ranked second in Colorado). As for Wagner, they will face off against Grandview at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
