Academy of Science and Innovation walked away with a 51-39 win over Parish Hill. Given Academy of Science and Innovation's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Parish Hill is ranked 155th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Academy of Science and Innovation to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maiara Rodriguez, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 steals. The game was Rodriguez's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Symber Ortiz-Sutton, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Academy of Science and Innovation's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-0-1. As for Parish Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Academy of Science and Innovation will be playing at home against Weaver at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Parish Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against Tourtellotte at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
