TAPPS Division II District 3 recap October 1, 2013
Hyde Park Baptist moved up to 508 from 647 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in TAPPS Division II District 3. The Panthers were able to move up by besting TMI-Episcopal 50-0.
Holy Cross was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from sixth to fourth in the league. The Knights vanquished San Antonio Christian 22-14 earlier in the week.
Davon Collins provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Cornerstone Christian fell to St. Joseph. He completed 4 passes for 27 yards and also ran for 56 yards. Collins' favorite target this week was Mac Pogue, who caught 3 passes for 26 yards.
Kyle Robbins put up the best numbers in passing as San Marcos Academy lost to Regents. He finished with 4 completions for 34 yards.
TMI-Episcopal's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Chuy Suday has thrown for 422 yards and 5 touchdowns this season, while DeAndre Wilson has 15 catches for 258 yards.
The Knights are in first place, while the Warriors are in fifth place.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Regents beat the Bears 41-0. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
