The Branford Buccaneers won the last time they faced the Saint Francis Catholic Wolves, and things went their way on Friday too. Branford came out on top against Saint Francis Catholic by a score of 62-51.
Despite the defeat, Saint Francis Catholic saw an underclassman step up: Cyrus Fariborzian scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fariborzian has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jonah Powers, who scored six points along with six steals.
Branford's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Saint Francis Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Branford will take on Lafayette at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Lafayette knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Branford likes a good challenge. As for Saint Francis Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bell is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
