Two dominant backs in D'Antae Sheffey and Nazir Jones-Davis are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The State College Little Lions will head out to take on the Bishop McDevitt Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with State College sitting on six straight victories and Bishop McDevitt on seven.
State College is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 58-8 win over Carlisle. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Little Lions had established a 43-point advantage.

State College's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Kulka, who threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes. Daimear Coad was in the mix as well, providing the Little Lions with two TDs.
State College was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 243 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in four consecutive games.
Another reason for the win was State College's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Rowan Walker, Jake Lukac, and Evan Scott, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Meanwhile, Bishop McDevitt blew past Central Dauphin East, posting a 49-7 win. Considering the Crusaders have won seven contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
State College better focus on containing Sebastian Williams and Jerome Larue Jr. as the pair were huge in Bishop McDevitt's win. Williams threw for 214 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 81.2% of his passes, while Larue Jr. gained 58 total yards and two touchdowns. Williams' passing game has become a key predictor of Bishop McDevitt's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.
Bishop McDevitt didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Tyler Reinhart.
State College's record now sits at 8-1. As for Bishop McDevitt, their record is now 7-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. State College has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 219.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Bishop McDevitt struggles in that department as they've been averaging 171.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
State College skirted past Bishop McDevitt 58-55 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Little Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
