Having just played yesterday, the Pinson Valley Indians will jump right back in to play the White Hall Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Pinson Valley and four for White Hall.
Pinson Valley pushed their score all the way to 68 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 78-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of Silsbee. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Pinson Valley came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 23rd in Alabama, while Silsbee is ranked 211th in Texas).
Despite the loss, Pinson Valley saw an underclassman step up: Clyde Walters scored 25 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Walters scored a full 36.8% of Pinson Valley's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Camron Frost was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, White Hall ended up a good deal behind Sandy Creek on Wednesday and lost 66-50.
Pinson Valley's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for White Hall, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
